Putting Your Xbox One Vertically May Kill It

Microsoft has said that putting your Xbox One vertically may harm the console as well as the games you are playing. This is mostly due to the fact of the disc tray was designed with horizontal configurations solely in mind. Albert Panello, the senior director of product management for the Xbox division, sheds a little light on Microsoft’s reasoning for this decision:

“We don’t support vertical orientation; do it at your own risk. It wouldn’t be a cooling problem, we just didn’t design the drive for vertical. Since it’s a slot loading drive, we just didn’t design it for both.”
