Halo Weekly Update 1/23/14

There will be something for everyone in the world of Halo over the next couple weeks, whether you like books, headshots or…. football?

Matchmaking Updates

In Monday 20th’s update we saw the Team DLC playlist return to Halo 4, where it will stay for two weeks. The new playlist offers 4v4 Slayer, King of the Hill, Extraction, SWAT, Snipers, Ricochet, Regicide, and Oddball on the following maps:

• Skyline
• Monolith
• Landfall
• Daybreak
• Harvest
• Vertigo
• Pitfall

Action Sack also saw a few additions, including one-shot-kill Plasma Pistol gametype “Paintball”, single-lane CTF variant “Husky Raid” and the Energy-Sword filled KotH variant “Clang of the Hill”.

Team Doubles was the final playlist to see changes, with the community-chosen KotH Doubles being added on Haven, Abandon, Simplex, The Ark, Fallout, Pitfall, and Skyline.

Now, we look to the future…

To celebrate Super Bowl weekend, 343i are bringing back the much loved “Turkey Bowl” playlist from Thanksgiving weekend under the new name of “Spartan Bowl”! This is very much the same gametype we saw in November, but with a new and improved football pitch themed map and exclusive armour colours for each team, to reflect the colours of the teams involved in the Super Bowl. The playlist will be available from Friday, January 31st through Sunday, February 2nd, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy this exciting gametype!

The new weekly challenges can be viewed here, and the final standings for Season 1 of “Top 200”, here.

Community Choice

Last week you voted for what Doubles variant you would like to see, this week there are 3 different SWAT gametypes to pick from!

“In a SWAT CTF setting, your flag carrier is always at risk from a long range headshot, so map control is more important than ever. “

“Players need to be bold and ballsy in SWAT Oddball, where the key is grabbing the ball and then finding the best hiding spot possible, and locking it down with your team. “

King of the Hill
“In SWAT King of the Hill teams must work together to control all sightlines into the hill – a nearly impossible task which often results in fast paced, tug-o-war game play. “
