Elgato Game Capture HD 60 Revealed

Elgato has announced their newest capture card the Elgato Game Capture HD 60. This announcement comes a little over two years after the release of the wildly popular Game Capture HD.

Elgato Game Capture HD 60

The Game Capture HD 60 is significant improvement from its predecessor and was specifically designed to work with the Xbox One and PS4. The HD 60 now allows you to record your favorite gameplay moments in 1080p, with H.264 hardware encoding, and at 60 frames per second.

This is huge for YouTubers as the YouTube platform uses the H.264 format and has plans to support for 48 and 60 frames per second videos in the near future.

Not only has the hardware received significant upgrades but so has their amazing recording software. A new feature, Stream Command, has been added to give more power to your live broadcasts to either Twitch, YouTube and other platforms. Stream Command allows you to easily add overlays and your webcam to multiple layouts that you can switch on-the-fly. This time, with the HD 60, you don’t have to choose between live streaming and recording high quality videos. It doesn’t matter what resolution your live stream is broadcasting at as you can now simultaneously capture the same footage in full 1080p with all of your stream elements on separate tracks!

Elgato Stream Command

Elgato introduced the ability to have separate audio tracks relatively recently, giving editors more control with game audio and live commentary audio. Now all of your stream elements from the new Stream Command feature will be recorded on separate tracks so you could theoretically have tracks for gameplay, gameplay audio, live commentary audio, webcam video and your live stream overlay graphics.

Now what’s the difference between the Game Capture HD 60 and the Game Capture HD?
