The Microsoft briefing has come to an end in Germany at Gamescom. Many exclusives, new releases and indie games were shown, but for most of us here the most exciting news came from 343 Industries. Announced during the Xbox media briefing, the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta will run from Dec. 29, 2014 through Jan. 18, 2015, and focus on just a portion of Halo 5: Guardians’ full multiplayer experience – arena gameplay. Featuring intense 4 vs. 4 showdowns, arena combat in Halo 5: Guardians will start players with identical loadouts, ensuring level playing fields for all. The Multiplayer Beta includes seven maps and three game types, in addition to some armor customization options.
The Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta will run on dedicated servers at 60 fps and include unlockables which can be carried over to the full game when it launches in fall in 2015.
In this video we see a sneak peak of an old favourite, returning map, Midship as well as an all new, unannounced, weapon resembling an RPG.
