The fine folk at Xbox and 343 Industries have revealed some fantastic news today over on Xbox Wire – let’s get right into it!
First and foremost, the Master Chief Collection has gone Gold! This means that the final ship version is complete and ready to go to production. More importantly, though, the game will be available for pre-purchase and pre-download later today!
Secondly, if you were in despair about having to wait a few days more than everyone else to get your hands on the game, you’ll likely be pleased to hear that (with a few exceptions) the MCC will now have a universal release date of November 11th! The only exceptions are Belgium, releasing on the 12th, France, releasing on the 14th, and Japan, releasing on the 13th.
Now, on a slightly different note, we also have some details on storage space required for the game. It’s no secret that there is a LOT of content in this package, and the amount of storage space you’ll need is highly representative of that. The game itself is set to take up around 45GB of storage space, with a further content update at launch that will be around 20GB. The good news is that we will be able to play campaign and more as the update installs, adding some features and multiplayer content.
Finally, fans of Halo 4’s episodic co-op mode, Spartan Ops, will have to wait until December whilst the team at 343i make some technical enhancements to it, ensuring that the mode is better and smoother than ever before. All ten episodes will be available as soon as Spartan Ops becomes available.
That’s all in today’s Wire post, less than a month until launch now!
What’s the first thing you’re going to do in the MCC?
