343 Industries announced today that the Halo Channel App, previously only available on on Xbox One and Windows 8 PCs and Tablets, is now available to download for iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and Android devices. The Halo Channel app is the home for all news, community, Halo Championship Series and Halo original programming including The Sprint, The Bulletin, Red vs Blue, and much more.
In celebration, when you download the Halo Channel app on your platform of choice and watch any video, you’ll be awarded a unique Promotional REQ pack which contains a special emblem in Halo 5: Guardians. For those who don’t know, REQ packs contain Requisitions that are used primarily in Halo 5’s new Warzone multiplayer. They can contain weapons, weapon skins, weapon variants, vehicle skins, vehicle variants, assassination animations, stances, armor pieces, armor skins, emblems, and the list goes on. The cosmetic REQ items are also available in the Arena multiplayer experience as well as Warzone.
Now 343 Industries took to Twitter and informed us that “A Windows Phone version of the Halo Channel app is in the works and will be available at the launch of Windows 10 Mobile.” Windows 10 mobile does not have a release date set as of yet.
If you’ve already been watching content on the Halo Channel your name, and associated gamertag, is already on the list to receive the Promotion REQ Pack. Of course, you’ll have to wait until Halo 5: Guardians releases on October 27th to receive the Promotional REQ pack.
