Good news! Pokémon GO is officially in the process of full release! I say “process” because it’s not quite there yet – the game has been released for Android & iOS in Japan, New Zealand and Australia, with no word yet on other territories’ expected timeframes.
This scenario isn’t an uncommon one, with many apps similar to the augmented-reality game having been released in less-populated territories first and rolled out from there to prevent issues that may occur with an immediate full release worldwide.
For those who have been living under a Geodude, Pokémon GO is Nintendo’s answer to a cry from millions of fans for an open-world AR game that effectively turns the real world into a land filled with Pokémon. Your device will vibrate when a Pokémon is nearby, and will then allow you to try and capture it by throwing a Pokéball at it. Located at significant places such as museums and monuments are Pokéstops where players can stock up on important items.
As we hear more on release in other territories we’ll be sure to keep you up to date!
