“This game is going to bring a co-op experience unlike anything you have ever seen before”
Have you been craving a local co-op title to help get the dust off of your second controller? If the answer is yes, EA Games has answered your prayer with the announcement of A Way Out. Developed in partnership with Hazelight a studio founded by Josef Fares; the creative director of the critically acclaimed indie title Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons. Developed to scratch an itch missing from this generation, A Way Out brings an exclusively cooperative story. You may think this isn’t an easy task, but the developers had this to say about that goal:
“The idea for A Way Out came when me and a friend tried to find a story driven co-op game that wasn’t a drop-in/drop-out experience. We simply could not find a game like that. We’re also bringing an innovative look into how to tell the story of both these characters. Players will be immersed in the game with the way we change the display from a full screen experience seamlessly to different cinematic split-screen formats. By focusing on the two characters in different ways, it opens up a huge variety of gameplay, as we really wanted to avoid repetitions so they will get to know the characters through very different situations.”
Featuring Leo and Vincent, A Way Out drops you into an harrowing attempt to escape prison. Though things aren’t so smooth at the start. Leo and Vincent must learn to trust each other as the game progresses. Will they achieve their ultimate goal? Only time will tell!
A Way Out will be releasing for digital download in early 2018 on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC where it will be exclusively distributed on Origin.
