During tonight’s Halo Livestream, 343 Industries head Bonnie Ross announced that work is underway on patches to finally fix Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s many lingering issues, citing the upcoming launch of the Xbox One X has a chance to revisit the collection. 343 community manager Brian Jarrard (aka ske7ch) explained further:
“With the upcoming release of Xbox One X, it just presented a new opportunity, that a new console, along with all the platform updates … now makes an MCC revisit a lot less risky and a lot more viable in terms of what we want to do and what we actually can do.”
Bonnie Ross also took the chance to share how she’d like to improve transparency between 343 and the Halo community.
“I think that seeing the community through [Brian’s] eyes, and that we haven’t been communicating, we’ve just been silent on this topic, has not been great, it’s caused a lot of frustration … I want to make sure as we go forward that’s something that we do fix.”
These patches, along with Xbox One X enhancements for the Master Chief Collection, will be arriving sometime in 2018.
